So you want to do something romantic ? Perhaps spontaneous ? I highly recommend Glamping. Which is in short, simply camping in style. But before you wizz off and start looking for accomodation, STOP. I say go a little extra step and take some of your vintage goodies with you to make you feel “at home” while away from home. You’ll then get the best of both worlds “Non” ?
Besides the essentials such as your Waterproofs, Wellies and Wayfarer sunnies here’s what else you need.
Top 5 Vintage Essentials for Glamping
1. For the Kitchen – Champagne Glasses
Why not take a a pair of elegant champagne glasses with you too. Sure it’s slightly impractical, but think about the satisfying smile you will have on your face once you hear the lovely chink of real crystal ! All you need to decide are flutes or Coupe. I myself prefer the versatility of coupes.
2. For the Bedroom – Blankie
Take your favourite cosy knitted vintage blanket. You know the one that’s hard for you to leave from under every morning ! I think everyone should have one of these, especially in the cooler climates. Perfect for snuggling up at the campfire or in your glamping accommodation be it tent or Shepherd’s hut.
3. For Campside – Melmac cups and saucers or Vintage China
Wake up refreshed and have your morning coffee or tea in your favourite china and/or child friendly melmac cups. Pick pretty pastel colours and savour every moment of your trip.
4. For the Day Trip – Picnic Bag or Portable Drinks bar
When you feel refreshed enough to explore, make or grab a few sandwiches and your favourite bottle of wine or tipple and pack them in a handy vintage carry all such as this compact utensil set with cheeseboard and wine cooler bag is sure to set the scene for a great lunch for two. If you want to mix cocktails on the go, or with a larger group of adults, this portable drinks bar may be more fun.
5. For Bedtime – A good old book
Pick up a classic that you haven’t read in a long time and enjoy some quiet time reading. I love the smell of old books and nothing quite beats a classic. I often feel inspired to journal or memory keep about the day – Make your own story . You can curl up under your blankie with a hot cocoa and turn the pages slowly.
Well, that’s my tested list.
